The Strangers Guild is looking for 30 daring reviewers to brave the dangerous Labyrinths, battle the unknown horrors that lurk within and make it home in one piece from Escario to share tales of their adventures with us all!

I. About

In celebration of our first self-published title in North America, we here at Experience Inc. will be holding a contest to find 30 reviewers to play and publish reviews for the digital download Dungeon RPG, Stranger of Sword City on the Xbox One. Along with the digital download review code, winning individuals will also receive the Japanese version of the game’s Art Book, along with 2 posters. Winning Entrants will have their review & site showcased on the Experience Inc. Homepage News Section and tweeted from the Official Twitter account.

II. Eligible Individuals

No Purchase Necessary to Enter or Win.

The Contest is open only to natural persons who are legal residents and physically located in one (1) of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia and Canada (excluding the province of Quebec) and who are Eighteen (18) years of age or older as of the beginning of the Contest Schedule Details (as defined below). The Contest may only be entered in or from the U.S. or Canada (excluding Quebec). Void in Quebec, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, U.S. Military installations in foreign countries, all other U.S. territories and possessions and wherever prohibited or restricted by law. Entries originating from any other jurisdiction will be disqualified.

Entrants are required to have the ability to publish their review of Stranger of Sword City on either a self-run media website or a media website that they officially write for, along with a referral contact from said media website for confirmation purposes.

III. Contest Schedule Details

  • Contest Entry Starts – February 12, 2016 (Wed.) Japan Standard Time “JST”
  • Contest Entry Deadline – February 26, 2016 (Fri.) – 11:59 p.m. JST
  • Winners are Notified & Review Codes sent by e-mail – March 1st, 2016 (Tues.) JST
  • Review Embargo Ends – March 8, 2016 (Tues.) JST
  • Deadline for Reviews Publication – March 20, 2016 (Sun.) – 11:59 p.m. JST

IV. How to Enter

The Contest may be entered by using the official Contest Page reading and accepting the terms & conditions. After terms & conditions have been accepted the entrant is required to fill out the Contest Entry Form on the Entry Form Webpage, once sent this completes the entry process.

Entries that are not complete or do not adhere to the rules or specifications may be disqualified at the sole discretion of Experience Inc. You may enter only once and you must fill in the information requested. You may not enter more times than indicated by using multiple e-mail addresses, identities or devices in an attempt to circumvent the rules. If you use fraudulent methods or otherwise attempt to circumvent the rules your submission may be removed from eligibility at the sole discretion of Experience Inc.

VI. Responsibilities for Winning Reviewers

  • Reviewers will be required to publish a review before the specified deadline March 20, 2016 - 11:59 p.m. Japan Standard Time “JST” (Sun.)
  • Reviewer must play the game for at least 10 hours, before writing their review.
  • Reviewers must follow the guidelines detailed in Section 6.5 of the Agreement Regarding “Calling All Reviewers” Contest. Reviews must not, falsify facts, contain religious / political statements, discriminate against others, infringe any third party copyrights, trademarks etc., slander others or contain content not related to Experience Inc.
  • Review must be written by the contest Entrant only.
  • Reviewer must contact Experience Inc. once the article has been published online.
  • Information in regards to “Transfer of Rights and Application of Rights” can be found in Section 11 of the Agreement Regarding “Calling All Reviewers” Contest.

  • * All prizes are nontransferable. No substitution of prize or transfer/assignment of prize to others, may not be sold or request for the cash equivalent by winners is permitted. All 3 physical prizes are from the Japanese Xbox 360 release of the game under the Japanese title, “Tsurugi no Machi no Ihoujin: Shiro no Oukyuu.”

VIII. Winner Selection Process

Selection for Entrants who will be entered into the random drawing for the Digital Download Review Code and prizes will be by the following criteria.

  1. How frequently the website is updated.
  2. Website access numbers.
  3. Content, accuracy, quality of reviews within associated site.
  4. Content, accuracy, quality of reviews written by Entrant, within associated site.
  • * Entrants who clear the selection process will be entered into a random drawing to be eligible for one of the 30 Winning slots.
  • * Experience Inc. will help showcase our 30 Winning Entrant’s review & site to our fans by posting the relevant information in our Official Page News section and Company Twitter Account.
  • * Purchasing or owning of Experience Inc. products does not increase chance of winning.

IX. Notification of Winners

After the Entry Deadline on February 26, 2016 Winning Entrants will be notified by e-mail no later than March 1, 2016 to the e-mail Address provided within the Contest Entry Form.

Experience Inc. shall have no liability for a winner's failure to receive notices due to winners' spam, junk e-mail or other security settings or for winners' provision of incorrect or otherwise non-functioning contact information. If the selected winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible, or fails to timely return a completed and executed declaration and releases as required, prize may be forfeited and an alternate winner selected.

Agreement Regarding
“Calling All Reviewers” Contest

Persons applying for the position of writing reviews for our company’s new products (hereinafter “applicants”) shall tender applications having agreed to the agreement as specified below.

1.Eligible Applicants

1.1The Promotion is open only to natural persons who are legal residents and physically located in one (1) of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia and Canada (excluding the province of Quebec) and who are eighteen (18) years of age or older as of the beginning of the Promotion Period (as defined below).

1.2The Promotion may only be entered in from the U.S. or Canada (excluding Quebec). Void in Quebec, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, U.S. Military installations in foreign countries, all other U.S. territories and possessions and wherever prohibited or restricted by law. Entries originating from any other jurisdiction will be disqualified.

1.3Applicants are required to own a website for which they have complete administrational authority or officially write reviews and/or articles for.

1.4Applicants are not required to purchase any of The Company’s products or services. Purchasing any or The Company’s products or services will have no impact on the application results or selection results.

2.Application Method

2.1Applicants shall apply through The Company’s designated application webpage after reading the contest details page at the following address, (http://drpg-sosc.com/information/reviewers-contest.html) and accepting the agreement. After accepting the agreement, applicant will be able to enter the application webpage and fill out all sections designated by The Company.

2.2An application shall be deemed to have taken place at the point when The Company receives notification of an application as per 2.1

2.3In making an application, applicants shall provide The Company with the following information:

  1. Full name of applicant
  2. Date of birth of applicant
  3. Applicant’s e-mail address
  4. Media site referral contact e-mail address (in event applicant is a contracted freelance writer)
  5. The website that the applicant owns and has full administrational authority for (website for posting reviews) or website that applicant is a registered writer for and has an agreement with affiliated website to have the written review published after the specified embargo date is lifted.
  6. Xbox Gamertag

2.4The Company will only make contacts through the contact details that have been provided by the applicant during their application, even in instances where there are errors in the e-mail address provided or in other contact details provided by the applicant. The Company shall bear no responsibility whatsoever for any loss or damage incurred by the applicant hereby.

2.5If there are any changes made to the agreement details provided by the applicant, the applicant shall notify The Company immediately. The Company shall bear no responsibility whatsoever for any detriment incurred by the applicant through any delay in receiving notifications.

2.6The applicant shall prepare any computers, Internet connection and other facilities required for making an application, and the applicant shall be responsible for any expenses related to preparing these. Furthermore, the applicant shall be solely responsible for any expenses required for application including Internet connectivity expenses, electricity costs, and other costs.

3.Application Deadline

3.1The Application Deadline will be February 26, 2016 (23:59 Japan Standard Time “JST”)

4.Determination of Successful Candidates

4.1The Company shall determine successful candidates at The Company’s own discretion, based on information received from applicants.

4.2The Company shall, using the following items as a basis, draw lots to determine successful candidates. The Company does not use race, gender, religion, or political affiliation as evaluation criteria.

  1. Update frequency of applicant’s website.
  2. Number of unique users of applicant’s website.
  3. Contents, accuracy and appropriateness of reviews.
  4. Contents, accuracy, and appropriateness of reviews created by applicant for other game software.

4.3The number of successful candidates shall be up to 30 winners.

4.4Successful candidates shall be determined entirely at the discretion of The Company, and applicants will not be able file any objection with The Company regarding selection. Furthermore, applicants will not be able to request that The Company disclose any reasons for selection or rejection.

4.5Purchasing The Company’s products (not restricted to products subject to review.) and purchasing The Company’s services will not increase the likelihood of being selected.

5.Announcement of Successful Candidates

5.1The Company will notify successful candidates of their selection by sending an email to the email address provided at the time of application, no later than March 1, 2016.

5.2The Company shall not issue any notification whatsoever to applicants who were not selected, and will not respond to any inquires, from applicants regarding selection.

6.Reviews Written by Successful Candidates

6.1The Company will assign game codes to successful candidates. Regarding being assigned game codes, successful candidates shall act in accordance with “9. Assignment of Game Codes and Usage Restrictions for Game Codes.”

6.2Successful candidates shall, by the deadline stipulated in 5.1, create a review(s) for products specified by The Company, and must deliver this review(s) to The Company.

6.3When creating reviews, successful candidates must play for at least ten hours the products specified by The Company.

6.4In order to ascertain the playing time of successful candidates, The Company shall be able to demand the submitting of materials related to playing time by the successful candidates. In instances where successful candidates refuse to submit materials, The Company shall infer that the playing time is under ten hours.

6.5Successful Candidates must not make mention of any of the following items in reviews.

  1. Any falsehood or exaggeration of facts.
  2. Any statement inconsistent with one’s own thoughts.
  3. Any religious or political statements.
  4. Any statements that discriminate based on race, gender or age.
  5. Any statements that infringe upon any third party copyrights, trademarks, design rights, characters, trading names, service marks, or any other rights.
  6. Any statements designed to tarnish name or insult.
  7. Any statements that are not related to The Company’s products.
  8. Other statements that The Company determines to be inappropriate.

6.6Successful candidates will take individual authorship for reviews that they create. Successful candidates must not submit reviews that could infringe upon the copyrights of third parties.

6.7Applicants shall be responsible for providing any equipment/utensils, and for covering electricity expenses and any other expenses required for creating reviews.

7.Review Submission Deadline

7.1The deadline for submitting reviews is March 20, 2016 (23:59 Japan Standard Time “JST”)

8.Method for Submitting Reviews

8.1Successful candidates must post reviews that they have created by the deadline on the website mentioned at the time of application (hereinafter “candidate’s website”) for which the applicant has administrational authority or is officially affiliated with as a writer, and must have review published for a period of at least one month.

8.2When posting reviews on the candidate’s website, successful candidates must immediately provide notification by e-mail to The Company.

8.3Any expenses required for posting on the candidate’s website, and any expenses related to maintaining the posting, are to be the responsibility of the successful candidate.

9.Assignment of Game Codes and Usage Restrictions for Game Codes

9.1The Company will assign game codes for products that shall be the subject of reviews no later than March 1, 2016. As compensation for game codes, Successful Candidates shall deliver author’s rights for reviews to The Company in accordance with the provisions in 1.1.1.

9.2The Company shall provide game codes by replying to the e-mail address provided to The Company by the successful candidate. The Company does not provide game codes over the telephone.

9.3When issued with a game code by The Company, successful candidates shall not, regardless of whether or not compensation is received, transfer or loan the game code in question to any third party.

9.4In instances where successful candidates infringe upon the provisions of this agreement, or fail to complete reviews by the allotted deadline, The Company may invalidate game codes without prior notification or warning to successful candidates. The Company shall bear no responsibility whatsoever for any loss or damage sustained by the successful candidate by the invalidation of game codes.

10.Prizes

10.1Successful candidates will be given prizes from The Company in the form of posters and published materials determined by The Company.

10.2The Company shall dispatch prizes to the address provided by the successful candidate, only in instances where the successful candidate has disclosed their address to The Company. The Company shall bear the cost for postage.

10.3Successful candidates may not demand that The Company exchange or purchase prizes.

11.Transfer of Rights and Application of Rights

11.1The successful candidate shall completely transfer author’s rights for reviews created to The Company, and shall not exercise any rights whatsoever regarding reviews, including rights attributable to the author’s personality. Compensation for transfer is included in the lending of game codes.

11.2Successful candidates may not themselves use any reviews, which they have delivered to The Company. Furthermore, successful candidates may not make any objection to the usage of reviews by The Company.

11.3The Company may use reviews delivered by successful candidates for advertising, promotional and other PR activities, and may attach the names of successful candidates. The Company may change as it sees appropriate the style and format of reviews to suit the purposes of its advertising activities.

11.4Successful candidates do not possess the right to demand that The Company use theirs or any third party’s reviews for advertising or publicity activities.

12.Responsibilities of Successful Candidates

12.1If any objections, complaints or demands from third parties arise with regard to reviews created by successful candidates, successful candidates are responsible for bearing and responding to these objections, complaints or demands.

12.2As relates to the use of reviews, successful candidates shall provide compensation to The Company and its affiliated companies, its employees, executives, board members, representatives - and other parties who have been assigned rights - and exempt them from any responsibility regarding any demands, lawsuits, procedures, investigations and all losses, damages, liabilities and expenses (collectively referred to as “losses in question”) that could potentially result from or do materially result from property damage including lawyer fees, personal injury, and/or violation of the rights of third parties that originate from the use of reviews.

13.Collection and Utilization of Information and Personal Information

13.1Applicants shall provide to The Company the following information and personal information:

  1. Full name of applicant
  2. Date of birth of applicant
  3. Applicant’s e-mail address
  4. Referral contact e-mail address (in event applicant is a free writer)
  5. The website that the applicant owns and has full administrational authority for (website for posting reviews) or website that applicant is a registered writer for and has an agreement with affiliated website to have the written review published after the specified embargo date is lifted.
  6. Xbox Gamertag

13.2The Company shall use the information submitted by applicants as per 11.1 for the purposes of providing game codes, selecting reviews, dispatching prizes, complying with laws, resolving disputes and for fulfillment of this agreement.

13.3The Company may not provide information obtained from applicants to any third parties except for the purposes described in 11.2

14.Company/Sponsor Information

14.1Sponsor: Experience Inc. SK Bldg. 3F, 1-9-6 Koyasu-machi, Hachioji-shi, Tokyo 192-0904, Japan

14.2Experience Inc. reserves the right to modify the list of Participating Organizations at any time and will provide any updates on the Contest Website.

15.Applicable Law and Court of Jurisdiction

15.1All claims originating from the recruiting of reviews for The Company’s products and all claims related to any transactions projected from reviews of The Company’s products (including illegal activities and all other claims not based on the agreement) shall be applicable to and interpreted by the laws of Japan, regardless of laws determining the applicable law.

15.2In the instance of any disputes that arise and originate from the recruitment of reviews for The Company’s products or related to transactions projected from reviews of The Company’s products (including illegal activities and all other claims not based on the agreement) , which cannot be resolved through consultation between The Company and the user, the designated conflict resolution organization with court jurisdiction for the settlement of the dispute in question shall be the Tokyo District Court or the Tokyo Summary Court.
